Commercial Description:
The latest addition to the Boulevard family of year-around beers, Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version -- inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A. -- boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping. Ingredients: Pale malt, caramel malt & malted wheat. Magnum, Columbus, Bravo, Cascade, Centennial & Palisade hops. 59 IBUs.

Yet another Boulevard I got to try from the sample pack, thanks again to my bro/sis-in-law, nice cloudy amber pour, large head. Very citrusy and hoppy. Taste is what I’ve come to expect from an American micro-brewed IPA. Nice balance with a hoppy finish. A great IPA and another great one from Boulevard.

This was the best selection of the variety 12-pack I purchased. Decent IPA, with a light cloudiness. Citrus notes and some spiciness. Would like to try their Double-wide. The rest of the Blvd. variety pack was pretty dull, except perhaps for the "Bully Porter."

Bottle. Pours a light copper, minimal head. Aroma of American hops and alcohol. Flavor is nice and crisp, tart and bitter. There is a bit more alcohol in the aftertaste, but it’s not a huge flaw. Nice thick body. Good effort.

A run of the mill IPA this was a bonus in a recent trade. Boulevard makes decent beers but I have yet to run across one that is so memorable it has made a name for them. On the other hand this could have been far worse. As a daily drinker it would not be a bad investment to keep around for friends and those times when you just want something simple.

Aroma / Appearance - The bronze carbonated body shined through the light of the setting sun. A thick white head trapped the hoppiness for around ten minutes. When it did a pleasing texture of grapefruit and melon was the result. Tinged with a sugary icing it was a bit different than I thought going in. The overall impression was a bit like a store bought gingersnap cookie.

Flavor / Palate - Honey drizzed over a plain pretzel confused the senses for a while until I figured out what was going on. Unlike many IPAs, which have a hoppy bite from the start, this one takes time to set in. It may be the bottle was not fresh enough but even so I would have expected more hoppiness and less doughiness in the finish. All told it is a so-so IPA which hints at the potential to be better.

Bottled. Pours golden with minimal off white head. Smells of citrus and floral hops.Flavors similar, finishes with lots of hops--almost dry with nothing but hops on the palate. Overall, a decent beer.

Tasted at Beer Dabbler event in St. Paul. Serious hop and floral flavor but with little behind it. Quite a bit of malt and fizz. Not quite sure why I enjoyed it as much as I did but probably something to do with the variety of citrus flavors.

Bottle. Poured a golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma was beautiful with a nice mix of citrus, floral and pine hops. Flavor begins with pine hops and ends with a bit of citrus, but mainly pine throughout.

Tap at Warren Theater and Grille, Wichita, KS, during "The Blind Side".
Pours a lively light orange with a nice white head and a nose of subtle grapefruit, rose, and a touch of malt. Flavor is crisp, lingering sour grapefruit with a subtle infusion of pine-soaked orange. Tingly and coating on the tongue. Another great Boulevard beer.
