Poured in to a 22oz glass (happy hour!)
Was a nice cloudy looking IPA, the nose was cirusy, piney, and a hint of malts.
The taste was a slight bite on the tip of the tongue that mellowed out as it journeyed down the palate. This is a very well made IPA and pretty damn smooth. Reminds me alot of masala mama with a tad more bite to it/bittering going on.
I could drink this all damn night well actually thats what I did. several 22 ouncers later I find myself drinking water because it snuck up on me.
Be caustious when drinking this beer its that damn good and sessionable

Aroma - Grapefruit, pine, faint smell of golden malt.
Appearance - Golden in color, somewhat cloudy with a huge white head that diminishes rather quickly leaving spotty lacing.
Flavor - More malt flavor than the aroma would suggest, followed by the freshest tasting citrusy grapefruit and piney hops I’ve ever tasted.
Palate - As with other Boulevard brews this is a bit over carbonated; however, it seems to work well with this. Very crisp and clean.
Overall - This is the first commercially available American IPA that I’ve liked. Most American IPA’s totally obscure malt flavor in favor of an overpowering citrus hops. Boulevard has done an excellent job of balancing both and still having that "American" IPA flavor but with some malt in there as well. It is crisp, refreshing, and VERY drinkable.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Cloudy orangey-yellow with a truly massive head, sea foam in appearance with true staying power, leaving a mass of Devils Tower- like proportions. Spicy aroma: lemongrass & black pepper underlie apricot fruitiness and light herbal hoppiness. Mildly bitter flavor as spruce notes come to play, bitterness slightly increases during the flavor profile turning more resinous. Herbal dandilion & lemon peel finish. Quite refreshing as well as tasty - a true compliment. A fine example of an IPA that does not clock you over the head with obscene amounts of hops yet brings just the right amount to the party. I suggest you seek this out. roacheater (36), USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 15, 2009 very reminiscent of the original bell’s two hearted ale from a few years back, with lots of the same grapefruit aroma and taste. it even has a bit of that same kooky pour two hearted once had... with moderate overcarbonation and a weird rocky head as it settles down. single wide is more under control, though. one can only hope boulevard doesn’t try to "improve" this brew by toning down these same rambunctious characteristics which made early versions of two hearted such a pleasure to drink.
