Dried fruit, mango, and caramelly sweetness. A bit of chocolate and molasses also are noticable. MmmcKay (280), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2009 Thick and rich across the board on the pour, nose, and palette. Great effort for an American Quad. My only complaint is that this is a little more cloying than the Belgians I’ve come to know and love. Still a very, very nice beer. My 2nd favorite of their Smokestack Series. ratman197 (3220), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Bottle. The bottle popped with good carbonation. Poured into a glass and it was a dark brown with a nice, thick, large head. Aroma is sweet with a little fruit but not strong. Taste of fig, banana, toffee and chocolate. dwaggs2 (549), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Suprised to finf this at the grocery. Poured a dark amber color with a big whitish head. Could smell fruit and alcohol as I poured it. Tasted sweet at first, then I noticed some spice. Alcohol is noticeable but not overpowering. The other flavors seem to keep it in check. Very tasty beer. I found it best to drink slowly. drjay44 (790), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 750 ml. bottle. Batch 58312. Pours a thick rapidly deflating head, mocha color. looks almost like a bread yeast starter, with some lacing, over a cloudy reddish amber body....nose of yeast, phenols, with many fruity tones including banana, dried cherry,....tastes of lingering sweetness with dried cherry, banana, fig amongst others, finishes with a bit of coffee, cocoa bitterness...mouthfeel is creamy but strangely light (probably alcohol). I’d like to do a blind tasting of this and some of Ommegang and Unibroues brews. SuzyGreenberg (1368), Seattle, Washington, USA
