Commercial Description:
"Do you know what dwells in a glass?" asks Ole, in Hans Christian Andersen's The Watchman of the Tower. Better known for stories such as The Little Mermaid, Andersen wrote this short, cautionary tale for a somewhat older audience. Our quadrupel ale, also meant for the mature connoisseur, is a deep and mysterious libation, dark auburn and full-bodied, its sweetness deceptive. As Ole describes the glasses in turn, their contents become more ominous until, in the sixth glass...

Thanks to Blake for bringing this! Poured deep peach with a well-retained cap of beige head.. some sediment in there. The aroma picked up rich toasty darker fruits, sweet toffee, and some oaky notes.. OK. The flavor had quite sweet with grainy medium-skinned (or slightly darker) fruits at the core with some crazy phenols and strong earthy notes around (that thankfully dissipated when allowed to breathe for a while).. Sweeter than it should’ve been, strong, and rather grainy on the palate.. finished sweet again with more fruit and alcohol warmth. This got much better with warmth. Aiight.

Split a 750ml bottle with my evil twin, and I liked it, too. It poured a slightly hazed light chestnut body with a head that didn’t want to quit. Interestingly, it left no lace. The aroma was jammy with fruit - cherries, dark raisins, and plums - and had a touch of light brown sugar and warming spices. Solid flamora elements. Hot & spicy on the tongue, it yielded the above fruit in the flavor along with caramel, brown spices, and a splash of alcohol. The finish is dry with a low alc burn. Not too shabby.

Bottle. Pours a nice cloudy red/brown with nice head. Aroma is malty, spicy, and dark fruit. Flavor of black licorice and dark fruit, sweet. Medium mouth feel with high carbonation...Over all, pretty tasty!

Batch 68081. Very fruity aroma and flavor. I can pick out the yeasty contents as well. Pours a cloudy bronze color with a big head, which quickly dissipates. I thought this was a fairly rare find, so I picked it up at a little shop called Corks and Kegs on highway 287 south of Mansfield. Good beer, give it a try if you can find it.

Batch 68000 something. Pours to a murky mahogany body with a very tall frothy/foamy yellowish tan head. The aroma is yeasty, sweet raisins and dates. The flavor is sweet and yeasty with some dryness as the beer decants. The palate is medium bodied and has a nice sweetness.

Bottle shared at recent tasting. Thanks!
Pours a rich caramel color with a small beige head. Smell is belgian yeast, with light spicing, and some candi sugar. Taste is very mild, and a bit yeasty with more dark raisiny, cand sugar sweetness. Nice dark fruit, and spice flavor, and is pretty drinkable, even if it is not the most amazing quad.

Bottle from Holiday. Brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet brown sugar, raisin, and fig maybe, aroma and taste. Decent.

Bottle acquired via trade with beastifan2k...Eugene, thanks again!!! Rusty penny pour with a sandy brown head. Spicy, malty brew that includes touches of brown sugar, raisin, molasses, and cherry skins. Medium consistency; not extremely complex but highly drinkable (and yes, I know it’s 10.5% ABV...can definitely get you in trouble). Very tasty!!!
