One of the few things better than this malt bomb (tons of tofffee, caramel, brown sugar, fruity, spices, alcohol, etc.) is the story behind the name, love it! This has to be one of the best ale’s ever! Bottle pour, dark chestnut with medium white to light yellow head. Spicy aroma with definite fruit overtones. We had this on the 4th of July and everyone enjoyed it. Yet another home run from the wonderful people at Boulevard Brewing Company.

Poured a deep brown, almost cola-like color with red highlights and a moderate beige head that slowly diminished to a ring and left some light lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, toffee, and a moderate fruitiness including plum, raisin, and fig. Sweet caramel entry with some undertones of brown sugar smoothly transitions into a moderate fruity hit with hints of plums, grapes, and other dark fruits leading into a dry, slightly yeasty finish. Moderately full palate with a nice dry finish. A really good beer, thanks again Matt. TheEpeeist (1480), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 6, 2008 25.4 oz bottle. Clear brown with some beige haze and a ring. Nose is cider, toffee and wood. Silky medium light with an alcohol tang. Taste is brown sugar, plum and fresh figs. Dry green bananas and cognac to finish. A touch raw but still a top tier domestic quad. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA

Pours a dark orange/copper color with a huge cream head. Aromas of candied figs, and other Belgian characteristics. Flavors of the same and some pear notes. This is a wonderful beer that I wouldnt mind getting some more of! Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Perfect appearence. Deep ruby color with a full, long lasting head of a light tan. Fairly nice nose, with a lot of Belgian character. Plentiful dark fruits (cherries, dates, plums,) and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is loaded with tons of depth. Deep caramel and honey glaze, with dark fruits. It’s a really nice beer and very Belgian. I think this series from Boulevard shows their brewing skill. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Bright, fresh ,multifruit ester aroma, banana, apricot, and brown sugar dominating, taste is much more baked caramel, cola, and alcohol with those fruit esters, becoming almost invisible, wish those esters were a little more evident in flavor. Still an enjoyable Quad, and this brew will drop kick you into Oz, Don’t drink it when your extremely thirsty like I did. moelikebeer (220), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
