BlackForestCO (549), Fort Collins and Black Forest, Colorado, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle thanks to mruesch, thanks Matt! Poured a deep brown, almost cola-like color with red highlights and a moderate beige head that slowly diminished to a ring and left some light lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, toffee, and a moderate fruitiness including plum, raisin, and fig. Sweet caramel entry with some undertones of brown sugar smoothly transitions into a moderate fruity hit with hints of plums, grapes, and other dark fruits leading into a dry, slightly yeasty finish. Moderately full palate with a nice dry finish. A really good beer, thanks again Matt.

Pours a rich caramel color with a small beige head. Smell is belgian yeast, with light spicing, and some candi sugar. Taste is very mild, and a bit yeasty with more dark raisiny, cand sugar sweetness. Nice dark fruit, and spice flavor, and is pretty drinkable, even if it is not the most amazing quad. badlizard (1523), San Diego, California, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle from Holiday. Brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet brown sugar, raisin, and fig maybe, aroma and taste. Decent. BOLTZ7555 (519), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle acquired via trade with beastifan2k...Eugene, thanks again!!! Rusty penny pour with a sandy brown head. Spicy, malty brew that includes touches of brown sugar, raisin, molasses, and cherry skins. Medium consistency; not extremely complex but highly drinkable (and yes, I know it’s 10.5% ABV...can definitely get you in trouble). Very tasty!!! biz82 (1321), austin, Texas, USA Oct 6, 2008 Hazy light brown with a loose auburn head. Banana, raisin, cocoa and tart apple aroma. Sweet, full bodied and well carbonated, making for a rich palate. Fruity malt flavor with plum and pomegranate. Quite nice. tompete (63), Burlington, Iowa, USA Oct 5, 2008 Clear white fast disappearing head. Clear red ruby with a hint of orange. Malty nose with just a little hops. Flavors of caramel candy, light booze and a dry almost sour finish. Light to medium creamy body.
