Draft, Falling Rock. Unfiltered, cloudy soft yellow, white head, fine-bubbled, attractive structure. First impressions of the nose: key lime pie, pillowy yeast, floral sugars. Delicately textured, soft but full on the palate with a slight turns towards syrupy texture in the finish. Intricate, fresh, delicious. Lovely overall.

On tap at Falling Rock poured a hazy gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of orange, pine, straw, pink grapefruit and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, earthiness, light citrus and a hint of spice with a crisp dry finish.

On tap @ the Crescent Moon. Clear yellow golden with a 1 1/2 finger white head, good retention. Big citrus rind and herbal hop nose with peppery notes, hay, pear and apples, some alcohol, and Belgian yeast behind. Flavor continues to have plenty of hops with everything else following suit. Bitterness peaked @ a 4 in the semi-dry finish, alcohol masked pretty well. Light prickly carbonation with a medium body. Very good beer--had a ccouple samples at the Great Taste as well.

Draft at The J Clyde Birmingham. Pale yellow, hazy, white head. Nose is very spicy and funky-promising. Taste starts off alcoholic but then the farmhouse/funk takes over. Slightly sweet with a nice lucious thick body. Well done and a tip of the hat to the traditional Belgian farmhouse brewers.

(draft). Clear gold color. Small white head. Strong grassy hop aroma. Flavors of hops, grass, and spices. Long duration. Light bitter finish. Slick/fizzy texture. Moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.

gtmw09... pours a clear yellow pear brown with a creamy white head....loads of assertive fruit in the aroma. pears and tropical fruits galore.... flavors followed suit and maintained a nice consistency to what the aroma offered. very fruity, nice and refreshing overall.

(Draught) Pours a hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, Belgian yeast, grass, and florals. Flavor of citrus, herbal/grassy, yeast, and pepper with a dry finish.

Sampled at GTMW 2009 (Madison, WI). Pours a beautiful rich gold, faint haze, beautiful thick creamy white head. Aromas are some light belgian yeasty spice, apple and pear, not funky, but a farmhouse feel spicewise. Initial is light, smooth good fruity and slightly dirty feel, with pear and farmhouse feel. A creamy rich saison with good body that proves you don’t have to add the funk for a great Saison. Finish throws the Amarillo pretty liberally, fruity and citrus with pretty good hoppy bitterness that incorporates well.
