Commercial Description:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes, this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Draft, Falling Rock. Unfiltered, cloudy soft yellow, white head, fine-bubbled, attractive structure. First impressions of the nose: key lime pie, pillowy yeast, floral sugars. Delicately textured, soft but full on the palate with a slight turns towards syrupy texture in the finish. Intricate, fresh, delicious. Lovely overall.

Tap at Barley’s in Shawnee, KS. Cloudy dark gold orange with a nice long lasting egg shell white head. Nice fruity smell of pears and grapefruit. Some close spice. The taste of spicy orange zest and clove are up front. There is some nice toasted bread and almonds. Slightly boozy finish. A little big and spicy, but it works for this tasty beer.

Sampled during Dark Lord Day 2009 at table 1 in Munster, Indiana. Pours a hazy golden pale yellow brew with a thin white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of tart golden grain malt, slightly sour fruits and citrus. Taste is medium bodied and plenty of carbonation with some flavors of spicey herbs, light hard skinned fruits, with some flowery hops character. Finish is slightly dry, yeasty and citrusy with a gritty texture in the aftertaste.

Draft at the Eldridge in Lawrence KC. Pours a hazy copper body with a white head. Chewy fruit y body pear and citrus esters. Fruity musk y pear notes. Chewy coriander and a floral musk. Much to my enjoyment.

On tap at Falling Rock poured a hazy gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of orange, pine, straw, pink grapefruit and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, earthiness, light citrus and a hint of spice with a crisp dry finish.

GTMW 2009. Poured a clear gold color with a creamy white head. Pleasant aroma of apricot danish, orange, and baking spices. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet. I tasted clove, pale malt, and nonspecific fruit. Nice.

On tap at the Crescent Moon. Pours a golden yellow with a large thick white head of various-sized bubbles. Great lacing. Spicy aroma of gooseberries and grassy hops. A very delicate flavor of medium hop citrus. Mild sweetness pervades throughout. Remarkably clean and quick finish.
