Great Saison (light, golden color) with a great dry-hopped aroma. This isn’t what most would call a session beer, but I’d like it to be. Not too heavy on the grain bill, but light, refreshing, and with a little punch. Float a boulevard dry stout (on tap) for a tasty treat. Pawola22 (765), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2009 On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a lightly hazed, bright golden body with an inch thick, dense, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of thick lacing. Very good looking. Aroma is quite nice. Fruity and sweet, but solid amount of spicing and a really nice hop nose. Good amount of floral, piney citrus, Belgian yeast and banana, soft white pepper, sweet malts, and a hint of barnyard funk. Flavor is quite nice and balanced as well. Starts with a light malty sweetness and lots of fruitiness. Banana and orange mostly. A nice piney bitterness guides this all the way through along with a soft spicing. Finishes slightly tart with lots of citrus sweetness, more of that piney bitterness, and a nice malty barnyard spiciness. Dry, medium bodied, and easy drinking with a nice lingering taste. Overall, a very impressive beer. Love the noticable amount of piney citrus and soft spicing throughout. Just a touch of barnyard funk keeps this truer to the style. Very well done. xmarcnolanx (798), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA

Aroma is citrus, white pepper, orangy hops, and a touch of dankness and saison yeast.
Taste is slightly tart and acidic, lots of pepper and yeasty elements. More orange and citrus-sweet fruit hoppiness comes through towards the finish.
Finish is full and sweet and a bit cloying with the hops and maltiness.
Semi-dry for the style. Fresh, this is very nice. I’d really love to see how this develops as the brett takes over.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2009 On draft at the Boulevard tasting room. Pour is hazed golden yellow with a nicely formed one inch white head. Aroma of fresh hops, pine and apricot citrus, followed closely by earthy graininess, mineral, spice and clove yeastiness. Fresh, complex, tons going on, yet still soft and well integrated. Taste is bright pine and apricot bitter, with the mineral earthy grain again closely following the hops. The yeast and clove perfectly wrap up the finish. Taste is soft yet bright, like the nose. Palate is medium, coats the mouth nicely, yet has a clean and dry finish. The finish reveals more lingering mineral character. Super drinkable. CanIHave4Beers (897), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 4, 2009 Updated: Jul 15, 2009On tap at the brewery. Pours a nice golden color with a fluffy white head and plenty of good lace. The aroma is spicy just mildly funky with just a hint of alcohol. Flavor follows with the spiciness and the mild funkiness. There is a hint of bubblegum right up front that makes you think it’s going to go sweet, but the rest of the flavor is remarkably dry. I enjoyed this considerably more than the regular Saison. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 14, 2009 On tap at Brouwers. Hazy straw color with a yeasty and coriander aroma. Very interesting interpretation. The alcohol is undetectable. The flavor is dominated by citrus and spices, more specifically the coriander. Carbonated and medium body. Fantastic. mreusch (737), Olathe, Kansas, USA

Pours a cloudy bright golden yellow with a large white head that lingers and leaves a great coat of lacing. Aroma is fruity, with spice and some overripe banana and citrus hops. Flavor is very drinkable, and more of the same, including fruit, spice, ripe banana and citrus. Very tasty and enjoyable, great stuff! eboats (889), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 21, 2009 I had this bad boy on tap at Crescent Moon. Poured a nice cloudy yellow with a white head. It was a delicious brew with some good balance. Had a nice citrus hop kick to it that complimented the dry farmhouse style flavors. The hops even provided an unexpected sweetness at the end that was quite pleasant.
