On draft at the Austin Whip-In - nice to see they have this one. A nice hazy gold with a small ring of white head. Aroma included a bit of barnyard funk, grass, and pleasant floral notes. Flavor is rich with sweet fruits, apple, pine, and citrus. Also a nice spicy bite. Pleasant leafy hop presence. This one’s fairly dry and tingly throughout, with a nicely dry finish. Very drinkable, a pleasant beer. Looking forward to trying the brett version...

Aroma is yeasty, with notes of fruity esters, hops (pine, resin, citrus)...very earthy. Flavor is very similar, with the hoppy, earthy profile upfront, followed by fruity esters and yeast. Overall, the hoppy freshness was very unexpected, but quite delicious. More hoppy than most saisons, but still just as great.

Tap at Anchor Bar, Wichita.
Pours a deep yellow with a lively body and a nice white head. Aroma is light lemon hay, and the flavor resonates with a nice, floral honey and a crisp, sweet grass finish. Nice, tingly mouthfeel that leaves a thick coat on the tongue. A refreshing beer.

Draught from Kitchen. Orange/yellow with little white head. Aroma is acidic and fruity, alcoholic also with apple, pineapple, and yeast. Flavor is also yeast with fruits at first of pears, orange and booze. Then big hops of grass and citrus, also floral, knock you back with bitter bite balancing. A delicately aromatic brew with big flavor across the board. Dangerously well hidden booze.

On tap at Brouwers. Hazy straw color with a yeasty and coriander aroma. Very interesting interpretation. The alcohol is undetectable. The flavor is dominated by citrus and spices, more specifically the coriander. Carbonated and medium body. Fantastic.

Tap at Brouwers. Nose is nice and citrusy with some good lemon and lime hop notes, some floral hops, dusty yeast notes, and some spice as well. Pours hazy golden with a fluffy head and good lace. Balanced with good fruity citrus hop notes, wheat, spice, and some dusty yeasty esters. Clean hoppy finish. Moderate carbonation and insanely drinkable. No idea this was 8.5%

Draft at Brouwer’s. Slightly hazed golden with fluffy white head. Wheat, hay, dusty lemon, yeasty esters, pink peppercorn. Carbonation isn’t as assertive as I would like to feel. The nose scents are are present in the flavor, but very delicate and balanced. Bitter and dry as well, but again balanced. Nice stuff, but I’m a bigger fan of their current saison.

Sampled during Dark Lord Day 2009 at table 1 in Munster, Indiana. Pours a hazy golden pale yellow brew with a thin white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of tart golden grain malt, slightly sour fruits and citrus. Taste is medium bodied and plenty of carbonation with some flavors of spicey herbs, light hard skinned fruits, with some flowery hops character. Finish is slightly dry, yeasty and citrusy with a gritty texture in the aftertaste.
