Commercial Description:
Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat Beer, available since 2000 both in bottles and on draught, is a lively, refreshing ale with a citrusy flavor and distinctive cloudy appearance. Our Unfiltered Wheat is reminiscent of the wheat beers that were brewed at the turn of the century, before the advent of modern filtration.

Good hazy golden blonde coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of wheat, canned corn, yeast and a tiny bit of coriander seed. Light-bodied; Fresh wheatie and somewhat yeastie taste full from the wheat with a bit of coriander seed going on. Aftertaste shows a very light finish with some mild yeast and a tiny bit of sugars. Overall, a decent wheat - no strong detracting flavours at all - only complementing ones throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 04-February-2006 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Bottle, Light aroma consisting of light malty hay like scent with notes of citrus and flowers. Light golden color with minor opacity or cloudiness. Puffy white head, diminishing. Flavor is mild malt, bready, yeasty quality. Very minor bitterness. Very smooth. Citrus flavor is barely noticable. Somewhat chewy mouthfeel with a lightly, dry quickly diminishing finish.

A cloudy light yellow appearance with a moderate head. The aroma contains some lemons, bananas, cloves, and bready notes. A hint of bubblegum also. The flavor is rather one dimensional but not too bad. It contains some bananas, lemons, and some wheat also. The palate is rather thin but on par for the style. Overall nothing amazing but would be a nice lawnmower beer.

Cloudy light yellow with nice head retention. Flavor is a watery rendition of a wheat beer with a slight lemony twang. Almost an insult to the tradition of the style.

Hazy, cloudy brew, special to Kansas City. Citrus-like hints in a wheat beer backtone. Lemon is often served with this beer. Much better on draft than in bottle.

Nice straw yellow, hazy appearance with thin white fizz. Yeasty aroma and flavor, with orange and coriander on the finish. Pretty nice wheat beer.

Bottle. Goopy citrus and lemon-vanilla slop nose. Pale, bright yellow body, hazy with a brilliant white, creamy head. Highly carbonated, crisp, bready taste, pale malts on a wheaty medium body. Enjoyable enough but very, very average.

The unofficial official beer of Kansas City, great for washing down any of the local BBQs! Not much different from any other wheat, but a great source of KC pride nonetheless. Simple cloudy golden color with varying amounts of head depending which bar you are at -- kegs are not quite as consistent as the big boys in St. Louis. In the summer time, tradition is to squeeze in a bit of lemon.
