Not sure how "we’ve added a small amount of yeast to the beer just before packaging..." equates to unfiltered, but either way, a few drips of dark brown B vitamins fell on top of the soapy white head as the bottle emptied. Body is a cloudy yellow with some booger-green highlights. Not fantastic looking. Aroma is rather repressed, with a hint of clove crawling into my nose, along with caster sugars and lemon. Taste is good, nothing bad, just a little sweet. Tastes very much like pineapple slices out of a metal can, including the taste of the can. Some soda water, a little pepper spice, and some berry malts round out palate. Decent wheat, especially for the US.

Bottle, Light aroma consisting of light malty hay like scent with notes of citrus and flowers. Light golden color with minor opacity or cloudiness. Puffy white head, diminishing. Flavor is mild malt, bready, yeasty quality. Very minor bitterness. Very smooth. Citrus flavor is barely noticable. Somewhat chewy mouthfeel with a lightly, dry quickly diminishing finish. I can see why this beer sells well as an upgrade to the macros, and is widely available around here. Easy to drink, a good summertime thirst quencher, but not overly complex or distinct.

Sampled from 12 oz bottle on 10/25/2006 at the Junedale Beer Klub meeting... Hazy light gold color with white head. Light wheat malt and yeast aroma and flavor. Light to medium body. Average American wheat beer.

On tap: Wheaty and citrus aroma come from the yellow hazy pour and off white head. The flavor is what’s expected sweet citrus hops, a little wheat, a little yeast, and a little clove. An average american wheat.

this beer didn’t have much flavor to offer. probably why most people feel the need to supplement with a lemon. however i would say i enjoyed it more than your typical american beer.

Pours hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is somewhat spicy, but mainly rich smooth malt sweetness. The body is med / light with a smoothness and light semi-sharp carbonation. Flavor starts with some rich wheat and light sourness with a bit of spice. The finish has a good amount of spice and is quite crisp. Then some sourness stick around in the mouth. Nicely done American wheat beer.

My first rating- rerated: It had an average head that dissipates in a minute or two. Cloudy and golden wheat colored. Not much to the aroma. Very smooth, sour and dry. Yeasty and refreshing. Noticeable hop bitterness. Thickish palate it seems. I did enjoy this beer. On top of the normal categories it promotes a bit of a state of happiness. Like an herbal tea. I’ve been noticing this alot in hefs both american and german.

On tap at Bob’s Your Uncle Pizza Cafe in Iowa City, IA. Fairly timid wheat beer, the only citrus spice was from the lemon that was served with the beer. Nice deep hazy yellow colour, drinkable, not exceptional. Strangly over carbonated.
