Commercial Description:
Boulevard's summer seasonal was introduced in June of 2000. Our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier, ZÔN (Flemish for "Sun") combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

Bottle, pours a cloudy yellow body with orange tinge and white head. Aroma is citrus, mainly orange with slight spiciness. Smooth, medium body mouthfeel with orange, yeast, and bubble gum flavors. Light effervescence. Finishes with a slight tangy lemon aftertaste.

12oz bottle. Pours hazy light yellow with a medium white head. Nose of yeast, wheat with a slight spiciness. Body is medium. Taste is tangy with moderate wheat and yeast. Not particularly spicy but a nice summer beer. Has this beer been dumbed down?? It’s not rich and full as I remember from several years ago. Still a nice summer refresher and one of Boulevard better beers.

12oz bottle. Hazy murky golden cider hue. White head. Honey and citrus aromas. Grainy and banana yeasty. Medium bodied and super smooth. Overt lemon lime and orange flavors. Bubblegum banan yeasts. Sticky and cloying. Grain and thick. Lingering yet quite refreshing.

Bottle, BB 10/1/07. Poured cloudy medium golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up spicy white pepper and banana notes.. quite enjoyable.. bit of lemon in there too. The flavor began with a pepper and tart lemon kick on the tip of the tongue.. progressing into a sweet, yet tart wheat and pale malty middle.. back-end had a great hit of coriander and sweet banana.. tasty! Medium-bodied and consistent on the front 3/4 of the drink, but tailed off quickly at the finish and was almost watery. This was a very good beer overall.

Lively aroma has a sweet and sour feel with an abundance of citrus. Vigorous pour yields a nice head that dissolves very quickly. This is a very refreshing drink! Coriander is very notable along with the obvious wheaty and orangey flavors. Main complaint is that the aftertaste is very watery, but overall this was an enjoyable drink...serve cold!

First effect of every sip here explodes in the mouth with tartness. It quickly settles into more classic wit flavors. The tongue seems to burst with little sparks throughout the glass. Coriander and cloves are prominent. Plenty of citrus, too. A very good beer, smooth, with a hint of tart and some spice. An excellent beer!

Rating 1066. Thanks be to my cousin for providing this beer. Hazy yellow in color with a medium sized shortish lasting white head, foamy. Nose is some sweetness citrusy almost flower extracty and strawish. Taste is sweet with a very strong amount of wheat and flower petal and citrus skin. Lots of orange. I think i understand why it was done this way. A lot of people enjoy this style of beer becuase some bartender throws an orange or something into it. So why not add the orange into the flavor and appeal to what the public wants? Hey, if it sells more beer go for it. Anyway, this is a solid beer with a citrusy wheat character that is very drinkable, especailly when cold.

Bottle. Smells like garbage and looks like yeast infection pee. I have been pleasantly surprised by the other Boulevard beers, but this was no treat for me. Taste was drinkable I guess, but not worth trying it again.
