Commercial Description:
Boulevard's summer seasonal was introduced in June of 2000. Our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier, ZÔN (Flemish for "Sun") combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

Bottle from Friar Tucks in Champaign, IL. Pours a cloudy golden with a nice sudsy two fingers white head. Aroma of orange zest and spices. Medium bodied with a light texture. Flavor of pale wheat malt, yeast, coriander, and orange. The sweetness is subtle. Very little bitterness on an otherwise refreshing finish. I did think this was a tad watery. However, still a decent hot summer day beer.

Bottle. Filtered bright yellow color with a nice but short lived head. Aroma is a bit Curacao and pepper. Taste isn’t so crisp but more on the malty, corn side. Theres a lingering hop bite in the back end that make it at least drinkable.

Best before date 10.01. Beer is cloudy, light yellow with a white, small, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing but lasting head.
Poor first impression; chalky and odd. Malty with a light note of toasted grain; Hoppy with a light/moderate note of lemon zest, wheat grass; Yeasty with light notes of milky powdered yeast; Light notes of dried orange zest, under-ripe banana, coriander.
The flavor is lightly/moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter with a long, lightly acidic, lightly sweet, trace bitter finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Overall kind of punky and unclean.

Bottle (BB 08/03/09). Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy light yellow, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (basement), with light notes of lemon zest, pepper, and coriander. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Simple and unadventurous, but acceptable.
