Commercial Description:
Boulevard's summer seasonal was introduced in June of 2000. Our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier, ZÔN (Flemish for "Sun") combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

Bottle. Pours a pale straw yellow, cloudy, with a very small head. Aroma is spicey, with citrus notes, and a hint of tartness. Medium light body. Flavor: starts with a soft wheat-like sweetness, but finishes with a nice spiciness. Carbonation is medium-high, balancing the sweetness. Finishes tart, with a lasting bitterness on the tongue. Overall, a very nice wit....great summer beer, light and refreshing.

From a 12 oz. twist cap stubby brown bottle with a best before date stamped on the shoulder of bottle, 10/01/06, and a blurb and serving instructions on the neck label. Made a decent appearance, poured a cloudy witbier pale golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, good carbonation. Had a sweet wheat malty nose with coriander and subtle orange zest, also a little peppery spiciness. A malty crisp and carbonated smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good summer drinkability. Sweet, crisp wheat malty and coriander and citric zesty taste, peppery as well, towards the end a orange and lemon flavor emerges and a dry sweet, lightly spicy and lemony finish. A nice witbier from Boulevard, tasty and refreshing, a great summer beer for sunny, warm days.

2006 batch, poured into a shaker. Very hazy pale yellow. A spritzy white head formed but withered away to nothing. The aroma is full of oranges and corriander. Kind of overly sweet. Still pretty nice. The flavor is a bit more hoppy, spicey/herbal wise. The corriander and orange are well balanced in the flavor. A bit overly bubbly. Sort of syrupy. Not bad for a local wit.

Very enjoyable brew. Nice flavor, goes down very easy. Excellent summer brew to cool you off after mowing the lawn or having sex. Reminiscent of german and belgium white beer styles.

Pours a very hazy lemony yellow color. The foam was limited when poured and very quickly disappeared altogether. The nose is good but feint for a wit. Some spice aromas as well as orange. The taste was light but did linger. A wheaty chalky taste mixed with a citrus orange appeal. Not much of a finish but limited corriander and yeast characteristics. Light body and overall could use more malt profile.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a very, nice little head. Citrus and yeast on the nose. Flavors are a subdued citrus that are mixed in with a tad of spiciness and a whisp of banana. This merges into a creamy, delicious refreshing wit. I wish this were local. Great, especially summertime, thirst quencher or overall session brew. Thanks to jhammerly for the bottle

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy, pale golden with a creamy, white head. Fresh, lightly citrusy nose. Light-bodied with accents of citrus while the coriander appears rather sudued. Lightly tart finish. 010406
