Commercial Description:
Boulevard's summer seasonal was introduced in June of 2000. Our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier, ZÔN (Flemish for "Sun") combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy, pale golden with a creamy, white head. Fresh, lightly citrusy nose. Light-bodied with accents of citrus while the coriander appears rather sudued. Lightly tart finish. 010406

12oz bottle, best by 10/01/06. Pours a hazy light yellow golden with a minimal white head. Smells of lemons, oranges, coriander, spices, and wheat. Taste is pretty much the same, but some bananas and pepper following into a sweet finish. Light to medium mouthfeel, good wit.

One of my favorite seasonals is back for 2006. I’m looking forward to rating this one. Pours cloudy pale yellow with frothy white head that diminishes in moderate time. Aroma is sweet malt with some citrus and a touch of spice. Mouthfeel is thin / medium and is well-carbonated. Carbonation has a frothiness to it that delivers the taste all over the mouth. Taste is rich malt with a pleasant sweetness and hints of banana. The finish has a very spritzy feel to it and replaces the banana element with a citrus element. There is also a hint of spice on the finish. An incredibly refreshing beer. I will be going through much more of this through the summer months. Thanks Boulevard!

12oz bottle via trade with jzzbassman - Thanks Monte! - Pours cloudy blonde with a nice creamy white head and carbonation bubbling to the top. Aroma is yeast, some lemon, a bit of spice, and some grassy hops. Flavor is yeast, bannana, some corriander, and a bit of that orange. Palate is light and carbonated pretty well. Feels pleasant in the mouth. Very drinkable. A nice wit!

batkins found this in his cooler tonight and wasn’t sure when he got this, so we gave it a shot. All he knew was it was some sort of wheat beer, we were really supprised when it turned out to be a really nice Wit. Pours a lightly hazy yellow with a small white head. Very citrusy mild hop nose with a light coriander spicing and a touch of bitter orange peel. Very refreshing Wit with a medium carbonation and lightly crisp finish.

Pours a hazy light golden orange with a large white pancake batter head that fades quickly. Aroma is of hay and crisp cirtus. Flavor is crisp citrus, hay, mild clove, and a light clean malt. Fairly dry finish leaves the palate clean with just a hint of a light breezy citrus and wheat. Decent light american summer wheat beer for a hot summer day.

Out of a bottle. For once I just opened up the bottle and poured, didn’t read it. I guess I’m slowly beermaturing and new it was a wit right away. Aroma was a doughy yeast and lemon. Poured a nice hazy yellow with a nice white head. Flavor was as expected nothing super surprising, citrusy, although the coriander helped it’s spiciness. Palate was relatively light and clean. A nice blend to this style wouldn’t pass on it depending what else is available.

Bottle. Hazy creamy pale yellow with a heathy head. Looks like a witbier should. Aromas of bread yeast and coriander, not strong but refreshing. Lemony citrus flavors with some clove and banana, very subtle flavors yet clean and refreshing. Slightly mineral like dryness in the finish with a light mouthfeel. Seems like a wit lite. Very refreshing summer beer that goes down even faster with food.
