Commercial Description:
Boulevard's summer seasonal was introduced in June of 2000. Our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier, ZÔN (Flemish for "Sun") combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

12oz bottle. Poured a lighter and hazy yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of wheatiness, citrus (lemon rinds), and a trace of spices. Tastes of citrus, spices (stronger than the aromas), and wheat.

Bottle after very stressful day. Poured cloudy yellow with medium white head, Herby and citrusy aroma. Orange and herb in the flavour. Lekker dry finish.

12 oz bottle from Market of Choice. Poured out a hazy, pale yellow with a decently thick white head and absolutely zero lacing. When the beer was gone it was like it was never in the glass at all! Aroma was full of some nice light spices like coriander and pepper and a bit of wheat. Flavor was coriander, pepper, light citrus fruit, light wheat. Not terrible by any means, but definitely the least of the Boulevard beers I’ve had so far.

’sOK. It’s a fairly standard American Wit, frothy white head, a bit of orange in the flavor. Drinkable, but....

This poured very pale yellow with a decent white head. The aroma was very spicey with aromas of coriander and some sweet fruit as well. The taste was also spicey as a wit ought to be. Other sweet flavors of apples and oranges came through nicely as well. Finished somewhat dry. Rather refreshing overall.

Bottle. Sickly cloudy pale yellow, creamy white head. Light brewpub flaws, chalk powder. Overly sweet, lightly artificial taste, light-medium body. Disappointing seasonal from Boulevard.

What? A wit?

Final beer to taste from Boulevard Sampler pack. (thanks again to my bro/sis-in-law) This one pours blond, cloudy, small white head. Aroma and taste is what I’ve come to expect from a Wit. This is a pretty good example of one, better than a RIckards white, though not as good as a Blanche de Chambly.

A nice wit. I’ve been trying a bunch of Wits lately, and this ranks near the top. Had it on bottle, so I got the full yeast flavor.
