Commercial Description:
Boulevard's summer seasonal was introduced in June of 2000. Our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier, ZÔN (Flemish for "Sun") combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

Dry lemony aroma, ample coriander, hazy yellow and a small head. This wit does a lot of things at different times. Sugary sweet, dry wheat, a little spice and a full mouthfeel.

poured with a nice white head that mostly subsided and no lace. Color is a hazy medium yellow. Aroma is good with a spice tartness. Smells fresh! Flavor isgood also. I pick up some spice and a little malt, tart light lemon qualities along with some yeast. Body is a tad on the thin side and well carbonated. Finish is clean from the tartness. Don’t know if I’d personally want it as a session beer, but could see as how some folks would.

Cloudy golden color with a fluffy head. Aroma is light spice and bready sweetness. Taste is smooth and not overdone. Clean and crisp and nice.

12oz bottle. Hazy orange yellow color with a respectable head. Crisp, pleasant mouthfeel, well carbonated. Lots of orange and citrus flavors, coriander as well I suppose. A little too spiced if anything. Lots of yeasty character as well. This is one of the better American White Ales I’ve had.

Not a bad wit. Hazy yellow with a nice white head and decent citrus nose. Nice and crisp, a great summer drinker. Has the nice nose of bitter orange peal and coriander. Very decent wit.

12 oz bottle. Pours very hazy yellow with nice bubbly white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, orange, and spice. Flavors are pretty similar with a fairly crisp finish. A nice offering for the style and a good summer beer that may appeal to the masses.

Pours a sunny bright yellow, very hazy with a good effervescence and a small head. The aroma is nice, strongly citrusy with a good orange and banana character with some bread dough. The flavor had a pleasant orange peel like quality with some lemon zest and a good clover character. the beer is mildly but very pleasantly bitter and not really sweet at all, a very nice witbier.

Pours a very milky light peach tinted gold with a 2-3 finger creamy white head that has pretty poor retention, but holds at a skim and ring. Aroma has alot of spice qualities right away, lemon, wheat, plenty of clove, dried orange peel, buttered light white toast and a little bubblegum. Flavor is yeasty orange dinner rolls, a hint of cranberry, lemon, wheat, lots of clove and coriander spice, lemon poppy seed bread and some dusty citrus hops. Finish is bready yeast, lemon and orange, maybe a dash of pepper. Palate is medium to thin thickness, fairly creamy and a little syrupy with a slight rush of carbonation to finish. Good stuff overall there are better witbiers out there but I wsouldn’t steer anyone away from this stuff, especially at the price in my area.
