Angeloregon (2002), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 1, 2008 From a 22 ounce bottle--Poured a deep amber-mahogany body with a creamy beige head. Creamy, hoppy, sweet, nutty, bready nose. Light toasty crisp hops presence. Toffee, vanilla, citrus finish. Very tasty! after4ever (1752), Brier, Washington, USA Feb 3, 2008 22. Dark mahogany with a thick, creamy tan head that falls quickly away to a little float of sudsy film and a thick web of lace around the glass. Somewhat sour, sweaty aroma with dark sugars afloat.. Medium body with some present carb. Lots of brown bread, black bread, leaves, and caramel on the mid-palate. Some booze bites near the finish, along with some spicy hops. Not quite as good as I remembered it...not unpleasant, but rawer and rougher. BDR (1903), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jan 19, 2008 amber color shines through the fire light at the über tavern in Seattle. Faint white head with a pine and citrus aroma. Lightluly sweet toasted malts are quickly overwhelmed by a strong hop finish AmEricanbrew (1009), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jan 10, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Garnet color with a light tan head. Toffee sweet malt smell. Light - medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Smooth texture. Nicely balanced taste of sweet toffee, bitter coffee. Finishes with a medium bitter alcohol tang.
A pretty tasty winter time brew from the great northwest.
