Oakes (6966), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 5, 2005 Draught, Collins Pub, Seattle Light amber colour. Hazy. Woody, slightly lemony, toasty aroma. Light toasty hop flavour, with fresh pale malts. Very dry finish. The body is a bit thin, but the hop notes are pretty tasty. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jun 1, 2005 A very rare thing here. This brew is designed for the sole purpose of making the most out of the least ingredients possible, this of course being Chinook hops. I have now discovered what that distinclty "weedy" grassy character in so many Northwest beers is - Chinook hops. Distinctly milkweed, or dandelion - something in the ballpark of funky greens. Not overly bitter, not really citrusy, very chewy but surprisingly linear in flavor. Quick finish and moderate mouthfeel. Definitely not my favorite, but of course incredibly interesting and a great find.
