Commercial Description:
A beautiful red-orange beer with rich malty flavors which were “harvested” from an extra long boil in the kettle and balanced with the addition of both Chinook and East Kent Goldings hops. A well balanced, full bodied, malty seasonal ale.

Draught pint at Redbones on 10/24/07
A very deeply burnished copper-red body is lightly hazy, with a fairly dense, beige head atop. Moderate retention, light lacing.
Toasted malt and hops! Breadiness rolls through the nose, as straightforward C-hoppiness takes over and piles on lots of stiff citrus. Not particularly varied or interesting, it just seems rather uninspired. Malt apparency is low, other than contributing more dryness to the already dry, acidic nose. Some light caramel and dough notes, but nothing to distract from the heavy citrus dominance. Clean, though, otherwise and no alcohol is noted. Medium strength of aroma.
Fruitiness starts up initially; some cherries, red apples, strawberries but is quickly curtailed by the stronger white grapefruit and orange bitterness. Soft, yeasty texture but with minimal comfort from any real malt suppleness. Grainy and bready on the finish, with hop acids steadily fatiguing the palate. Tastes like dry graham crackers and marmalade by the end. No alcohol or flaws. Too bitter, needs more malt balance/complexity.

Ruby-maroon with firm head amounting to a lovely pint. A bit too hoppy for a harvest season ale. Chinook appears in aroma.

On tap at the Parkway Tavern in Tacoma. Dark bronze pint with a tight foam head. Nose and first sip made me think... mmm, Deschutes Jubel. But, getting further into the glass, the lighter body and maple sugar overtones became apparent. This makes a fine fall beer.

Cloudy red/brown. Lots of bitter hops, but not so aromatic. Quite refreshing and light. Not much sweetness. Bitter finish.

A deep darfk amber color with a thin head. Huge deep aroma of spices and malts. Loved he flavor of deep crystal malts and the hops came through quite nicely. This was a rich flavorful beer with a nice sweet finish. Great Beer.
