Dec 6, 2009 Cask at the Wenlock Arms on 6th December 2009. Black with very little head. Vanilla and spice notes ; slight roasted barley kick and a smooth mouthfeel. Very agreeable in comparison to the sour porters one often sees and the vanilla note is a smooth, pleasant aroma rather than an aggressive one. A nectareous pint.

Nov 6, 2009 Cask Stillage from the Cellar at the Wellington, Sheffield 17/07/2009 (As Vanilla Porter)
Strong aroma. Dark coloured smooth on the palate and plenty of alcohol present with some vanilla flavour. Crisp bitter and slightly dry in the finish.

Sep 12, 2009 Cask-conditioned at the JDW in Staple Hill, Bristol 12/09/09. Near black with a decent, creamy off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruit and vanilla. Flavour of dark chocolate, fruits and a heavy dose of vanilla before a dry finish. The vanilla didn’t combine with the rest of the drink, indeed it remained separate like an ice cream float.

Sep 6, 2009 Cask Real Ale 0.25L tasted at Kuikka 5.9.-09. Mild coffeyish chocolatey nose. Pale beige head. Reddish brownish black colour. Soft malty taste. Mid vanilla. Bitterness at end. Tasty and malty porter. Not sweet. Chocolatey and coffeyish taste.

Sep 6, 2009 (Cask at Kuikka, Helsinki, on 2009-09-05) Deep dark brown and clear. Small white head that lasts long. Coffee, chocolate and vanilla in aroma. Medium bodied palate with low carbonation. Chocolate, coffee, roastednes, vanilla, bitterness and sweetness in taste. Chocolate, roastedness and bitterness in aftertaste.

Aug 3, 2009 A Mes rate: cask at the Welly.
Dark chestnut with no head. Cocolate and vanilla all round. In fact the chocolate is pretty much pure cocoa. Quite grainy. Lots of nutty character. A little too much on the vanilla for me be decent enough overall.
