DYCSoccer17 (2036), Davis, California, USA May 17, 2008 12 ounce bottle purchased from BevMo in Vacaville. The 6-pack was on sale for a mere $2.99. Aroma has lots of cereal grains and toasted maltiness. Light biscuit aromas. A little nuttiness with a light honey-like sweetness. No hops detected. Transparent orange-twinged golden color with a small-medium off-white head. Scant lacing. Starts with lightly toasted malts, hints of cereal-like grains. Finishes with mild spicy, metallic, grassy hope bitterness. Light-bodied. Bland and painfully boring. A stupid gimmicky beer. Up there with Funny Cide Light Lager.
RblWthACoz (959), Brooklyn, New York, USA Mar 20, 2008 Pours a clear amber with a thin creme head. Nose is barely roasted. Flavor is about like a standard american lager. Very mild earthy tones that almost tastes a bit dirty. Overall this is an okay beer. Easy to drink, but nothing to seek out for any wild character. sickassmick (62), Concord, California, USA Jan 22, 2008 Beer smells a little macro’y. The pour is clear little darker than a bud, with sudsy head. The flavor on this is more lager than pale ale. I’m not going to say the beer is awful. Not something I would buy again. There is some flavor, roasty malt, but not really anything I’m too fond of. I can taste some hops so i guess that puts it above macro brew. Sale at bevmo, thank god I didn’t pay full for it! Don’t really know what I was expecting for something that says "beer of the champions" brewed and bottled by MBF CO. I guess I could get down with this watching a fight in vegas or something....
marcus (1051), Sacramento, California, USA Jan 7, 2008 This copper ale poured with almost no head. The flavor is very thin with initial maltiness and slightly bitter finish - otherwise unremarkable. mjg74 (1799), La Mesa, California, USA Jan 6, 2008 Bottle from BevMo. Dark golden in color upon pouring. Very bready aroma. Some roasted malts and caramel along with a little hint of hops. Very dry caramel maltiness dominates. Some hops in the finish. Kind of interesting, but more of a cheap pale ale.
