Commercial Description:
The Southbound Stout is another full flavored classic beer, with a dry roasted malt taste and almost black in color. Stouts were made popular in Great Britain and were largely responsible for the popularity of regional breweries.

An OK stout with certainly enough smoke, dark brownish ruby, no head but some lacing, some hints of sherry

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color appearing opaque black in the glass. Large tan colored creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is big dark roasted malts with chocolate and tobacco notes. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and bitter hops. Medium bodied. Solid stout.

pint @ brewpub. Ok aroma, sweet, roasted malt, milk chocolate. Brownish black color, Good head & lace. Bitter sweet flavor, like aroma, Roasty chocolaty. Medium body, smooth creamy mouth feel, clean dry finish. Tasty, easy to drink stout, Appearance was the best part, not a strong aroma or robust flavor, a classic stout. Nothing to separate it from others, a textbook stout if that makes any sense.
