Commercial Description:

English: Brøckhouse Christmas Beer has everything. It is top-fermented with Belgian yeast and brewed using four different sorts of malt and cane sugar. The taste is profound, warm and full with a distinct touch of chocolate. This is a genuine Abbey Ale with all the fragrances of Christmas: dates, figs, cloves and apricots. The hops are Northern Brewer and aromatic East Kent Goldings. Brøckhouse Christmas has been stored for 3 months and will keep easily for up to 10 years. It is an ale that goes excellently with the traditional Danish Christmas fare. Best served at 10-12 degrees celsius.

Pours a very creamy beige head atop a clear but very dark mahogany body. The head diminishes very slowly and laces adequately. Belgian yeast, dark candi sugar, roasted grains, chocolate, caramel, coffee and multiple dark fruits arew all found within a subtle but lovely aroma. Notes of figs and apricot stand out. Alcohol is mild, almost unnoticeable. Anise and clove are notable spices. The flavor is a knockout! This is marvelous, candi sugar and yeast in perfect proportion and blended fantastically well with just the right amount of perfectly roasted malt. Sweetness is medium, bitterness low, astringency near nil. The finish is slowly drying, semi-sweet, moderately roasty and lightly bitter. The mouthfeel is creamy, sugary, sticky and smooth, medium-full bodied and lightly though amply carbonated. Delicious.

Bottle (2006)... NFL Day at dchmela’s in O-Town... Hazy, dark ruby ale with basically no head. Fruity, vinous, malty nose. Full-bodied and syrupy with minimal carbonation. Lots of sweet, dark fruit in the flavor. Lengthy, sweet finish. Thanks to TheCheeseMan for sharing this beer!

2006 bottle courtesy the Cheeseman. Brownish watery pour. Malty fruity sweet aroma. Sweet malt and candi sugar sweetness in the taste. May have a bit too much sweetness all around, but good for a holiday beer.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Dark, almost black. Tastes modest malty, alcoholic, a bit prickly, scratchy finish. Not bad!

bottle,2006, thanks to bu11zeye, pours an amber color with tan colored head, nose is sour with a caramelized cherry flavor, also can be a little hot from the alcohol, leathery and dry finish
