pilsnerrogge (1549), Finspång, Sweden Dec 31, 2007 Bottled 9% ABV Dark reddish brown with an ok head. Sweet aroma of liquorice and dark berries. Sweet flavour with notes of marzipan and harsh alcohol; way too much alcohol. This beer definitely needs time in a cellar. Pity I don’t have one.

High carbonation for a Christmas beer. Dark and spiced Too much alcohol taste present Enjoyit (1068), Vadum, Denmark Apr 1, 2008 Clear brown of color with a creamy beige head. An aroma of fruits, coffe, chocolate and nuts. A flavor of roasted malt, spice, coffee and chocolate. TBone (4566), Pori, Finland Mar 21, 2008 Bottled, alc. 9.0 %, vintage 2007 (BB 09/2012)
Ruby/cherry red, hazy, steady creamy beige head. Chocolaty, a bit yeasty nose, some spices. Quite full bodied, yeasty, Christmasy spices: cinnamon, clove. Alcohol and chocolate are present, maybe even a bit too alcoholic, it ruins many other nuances in the beer, propably improves after ageing. Ok Christmas dessert beer, perhaps a bit too much yeastyness. oh6gdx (4910), Vaasa, Finland Mar 21, 2008 Bottled (thanks omhper!, 9.0%). Deep rubyish amber colour with mediumsized creamy beige head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol, sweet malts some hints of fudge and caramel. Flavour licorice, hoppy bitterness turning into very sweet caramel/fudge along with spices and some yeast. Quite nice balance.
