DerWeg (446), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 26, 2008 500 ml bottle from LCBO - med clear ruddy-brown color and fine medium head. Aroma a bit wild and possible sulfurous. Damn. Lots of drying, bitter hops on the palate and finish. Tasting some burnt match-stick, this has to be a little skunked? It still performs decently as a pint with dry alefruit flavors and almost medium body with minimal sweetness. Stuart’s Bitter from Ontario is less aggressively dry-hopped and yet FAR superior to this for my taste. Just a commercial brit ale. And I love their Organic for some reason.
mabel (1710), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2008 [1700-20080912] Bottle. Malty grains aroma has some burnt plastic earth notes. Slightly hazy, brown red body with a quick creamy white head. Mildly mouldy wet grains flavour with a bit of mineral earth and rock (must be the Fuggles and Goldings). Medium body is dry. Sometimes good, sometimes not.

Aroma is very yeasty, smells like fresh brown bread, molasses, honey. Flavour: starts sweet with some dark raisin, toffee, molasses, then some chocolate. Finishes watery with some bitterness. Mouthfeel is watery and relatively light. thewolf (4108), Kolding, Denmark Oct 3, 2008 Bottle @ Beer Exposed, September 2008.<br />
Pours a fine, rather clear, amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has quite a bit of butterscotch and caramel. Low carbonation, a little thin. Flavour is nicely dry, malty sweet with some elegant, flowery hops. Okay. Tessic (409), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Sep 30, 2008 This ale poured a dark orange colour with a big rocky head. To the nose there are scents of sweet malt, corn and caramel. First taste is slightly bitter and watery. Flavours of caramel and hopps are very prodominant. The finish is slightly bitter with caramel flavours lingering. Light bitter palate.
