Sweetish beer, soft, round, lacks the hoppy flowers or sting to make it really good.
ogivlado (2381), Zagreb, Croatia Sep 8, 2008 Bottled(500ml). -as Branik Svetly Ležak.
Golden coloured, small white head, weak malty nose. Weak malty, quite hoppy and light cardboard taste. Light salty and dry bitter finish. Boring beer. Doggythedog (1018), Split, Croatia Sep 4, 2008 Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Poured a golden body with a big head that didn’t look all that good while collapsing. Very weak malty nose. Odd. Hops dominate this one, bitter, slightly piney taste and that’s pretty much all, very little real malt flavor (but not exactly watery too). Starts bitter, ends bitter. There are far better examples of this style around. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 50 cL bottle, Branik Lagerbier, 5%. Pours clear and golden yellow with a collapsing white head. Mild spiced hoppy aroma. Flavour is mild spiced and light cornish. Medium dry and light caramel malt flavoured, yet not sweet. Ends dry and bitter. sir_Pino (589), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland Jul 20, 2008 No 328

Bottle brown, 500 ml, 12P
Appearance: Pours nothing but golden in colour, not perfectly clear containing some sediment floating in the body texture and medium to lively carbonated. There is not big white head quite quickly decreasing to a minimal, rather no lacing at all, even though the head is small the beer looks better from its 10P counterpart.
Aroma: Bitter, citrusy, a bit flowery. Generally hoppy aroma is dominating over the whole impression. Some hints of chalkyness, talk, maltyness is not pronounced and hidden somewhere under the hoppyness.
Flavour: Front is soft, lively in terms of carbonation and definitely hoppy. there is all aromatic citrusy nose, than comes some maltyness and grains on the tongue. Carbonation on palate is felt lively. Finish duration is avrage, nice toasty, refreshing.
Palate: Body s light to medium, texture is wattery to dry, carbonation on palate is medium, finish feel is grainy, pronounced, distinctive and aromatic citrusy in nose.
SilkTork (3909), Rochester, Kent, England Jul 12, 2008 Cheap bottle from Prague Tesco. Brewed by Staropramen. Very fizzy wishy washy lager with rough smudge of bitterness in the swallow and lingering in the finish. Quite salty. Typical East European standard lager.
