frankenkitty (1789), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Oct 1, 2005 A hazy amber/orange in color... almost "brassy", if you will. A white head held nicely. As mentioned, this is a beer quite like a Hefeweizen. Spiced aroma with banana and clove above baby powder. Bready and bittersweet in flavor with a spicy, sour flavor that was also mildly soapy. Mouthfeel was dry and a little thin. Don’t hate it because it doesn’t know what it wants to be when it grows up. It’s a pretty good (if mislabled) Hefe.

Cornfield (4263), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 5, 2005 I scored this higher than my gut reaction told me to because it tastes pretty decent. But it was supposed to be a wit! While it looked like one, it had both the stronger banana aroma and taste that one associates with a hefeweizen, not a witbier. Cloves there, too, with mayhaps a touch of lemon zest. Weird.

RAYBOY01 (1623), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 5, 2005 Strong banana aroma. Interesting spicing and yeastiness. Grassy notes and citrus (lemon). Alright.
