Cornfield (4409), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jan 26, 2008 I’m always leery of this type of spicy beer, fearing I’ll be left with a Christmas cookie flavor in my mouth for the rest of the day. But brewmaster Anothony Carollo used some restraint on the seasong, making for a sessionable ale. It has a handsome pour, a red/amber/brown body with a creamy beige head. Nice lacework. The aroma is caramelly, lightly fruity, and has the seasonings to be expected in such a beer in the U.S. Medium-to-full bodied, it gives the tongue a peppery feeling and delivers some rich malt flavors with a subtle fruitiness and a quiet Christmas spiciness. The finish is quietly sweet with just a dab of the spices. Good stuff.

Brass Restaurant & Brewery, South Barrington, IL
