Sample at 2008 Indy Microbrewers Fest - Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Pours transparent black with a bubbly brown head. Flavor is cocoa powder, roasted malts and a touch of dark fruit. Palate is thin and dry. Different and tasty.

Indiana Microbrewers Festival: Deep brown with a good head and lace. The aroma has notes of walnut, chalky yeast, charred and caramel malts, and a touch of plum esters. The taste has twangy ripe fruit and nutty notes along with a hint of chocolate and ash. Dry metallic finish. The mouth feel holds this beer back, a tad watery but smooth. An okay hybrid beer.
