Brass Monkey Tenacious Apple Tripel

tap at the brewpub - Pours cloudy yellow with an aroma of yeast, apple, and a hint of citrus. The sweet flavor has some tartness from the apples and some mild hops that come through in the finish. The apple makes its presence known but does not overpower the other flavors. It is medium bodied and quite enjoyable.

Growler: Pours a cloudy pale orange color with no head. A very intense aroma hits immediately...notes of banana, clove, light citrus, some floral hops and ripe red apple. The apple really becomes apparent when this warms a bit and opens up. The alcohol content is hidden so well that if I wasn’t shown the beer menu listing the percentage, I wouldn’t believe it. Some light grassy tones compliment all of the above notes in the flavor and it surprisingly contained a very mild barnyard characteristic that just gave this brew an added depth. Just a tremendous brew with a twist on a typical tripel.
