some good things here, and then some bad things. some smoke and some sweet malts. but also some off-tastes and tons of alcohol. kinda an uglyish rotten dark fruit taste too. alcohol never went away, only got stronger. I felt it was, ultimately, subpar in craft and balance.

Nice look...black color with a tan head. Aroma is doesn’t jump out that much but it’s basically smoky. The flavor is quite smoked, bacon, and a some toffee maltiness. One of my least favorite beer styles but this was good because it wasn’t strong tasting. But the essential elements of the style are there.

A tasty <i>Wee Heavy</i> from brewmaster Anthony Carollo. It pours a dark mahogany with a short-lived, bubbly ecru head. Nice aroma, rich and malty with dark toffee, toast, and a light peat smokiness. It’s lightly carbonated and creamy in the mouth. The flavor is full of malt, old caramel and dark toffee, a slightly roasted feel to it, with that peat flavor that blends in so well. It finishes on a mild, woody bitterness. The healthy ABV warms slowly and comfortably.
