Cornfield (4409), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jan 26, 2008 This is a new beer to Brass since, although maintaining the old name, Anthony Carollo decided to brew a tasty Altbier for the winter months rather than a lager. It pours a hazy dark amber body with a fluffy beige head that laces the glass heavily. The aroma has dark caramel & toffee, a touch of apples, and a light herbal dusting. Having the smoothness of a lager, it also leaves a peppery feeling on the tongue. The flavor is malty and has a subtle fruitiness, a peppery spiciness, and a light earthy bitterness. It finishes on a dry herbal note. Nice.

Brass Restaurant & Brewery, South Barrington, IL
