WeeHeavySD (2025), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Oct 10, 2008 12oz likely via trade with Glougoburp, in that case thanks Dany shared with my GF Cyn who says Yum. Pours orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is sweet yet light. Taste is quite nise, taste is sweet malty and full of caramel sweetness. Nice scotch. tupalev (2337), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 31, 2008 I think this is the correct entry, even though the bottle looks nothing like this one. My bottle, courtesy of glouglouburp, shared with Mabel and Jerc. Mild fruity malt aroma, hint of sourness. Nice chestnut brown, small white head. Decent taste - lots of malt, sweetness, and nuttiness. A bit of alcohol in the finish. Gets better as it warms. Not bad. jerc (3268), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 31, 2008 2008-04-04. Hazy brown body with a smallish head. Sweet tangy malt aroma with mild dusty caramel notes (6+) Similar flavour, malty base with a surprisingly bitter finish, light earthy character to the malt, hints at not quite roast. (6+) Average plus palate. (3+) Light warming alcohol in the middle and aftertaste. Decent, has its moments. Bottle Labeled as L’Arch Ecossaire by Le Barik, Shared by Tupalev mabel (1710), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 31, 2008 [1247-20080404] 500mL bottle. Boozy raisin grapes and toasted grain malt aroma. Hazy, dark brown red body with quick light tan thin bubbles. More toasted dark grain malt in the flavour with earthen bitter mocha hints. Full body is a little bitter throughout. A great thick beer -- plus I could see a dragon and a swan swimming in the head.
(Labelled "L’Arche Ecossaise Scotch Ale"; c/o tupalev, w/ him, jerc) hopscotch (4678), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 31, 2008 Bottle... Clear ruby ale with orange highlights and a small, frothy, khaki-colored head. Malty, earthy nose. Restrained wood, milk chocolate, leather or canvas, and toasted nuts. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and weary carbonation. Sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, praline and toasted nuts. Bittered very nicely; almost balanced, but it’s not. Shouldn’t be. Lengthy, minerally, mildly bitter finish. Kudos to glouglouburp for shipping this bottle from the Great White North to the Great Aqua and Green, Sub-Tropical South!
