My Bottom Line:
Bubblegum phenols and honeyed fruit nonchalantly walk into a dry, hoppy finish for a lean and overly clean Belgian-style Strong Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thin veil of foam foam slowly sinks into the transparent, dull golden.
-Some vegetal excrescence seems to be growing in the nose.
-This is on the thin side of things for a 9% Belgian-Style Strong Ale.
-This is simply not up to par for a style which has many high quality examples (Charlevoix, DDC, Unibroue) in our province.

From the bottle and on tap at Brouhaha.

On tap at Vices et Versa. Honey color with a beige head. The taste sweet of candied oranges and bananas and also of malt the aroma is of herbes The finish is bitter like a Belgium ale should be.

A nice deep golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet candy sugar with notes of juniper berries, light bananas, and orange peels. In mouth, a sweet malt with banana notes, yeast, caramel, aniseed, nice belgian and warming alcohol. Rich and smooth. Bottle from Joanette, 6.59$.

Brown bottle, 500 ml, purchased at Le Grand Duc on May 18 2008, savoured on May 28 2008; eye: golden, lightly hazy, good effervescence, nice whitish creamy head, a bit of lacing; nose: yeast, banana, slight ash, light spices, kind of caramel; mouth: yeast, banana, light spices, alcohol bite, kind of caramel, malt acts the backbone on which the tastes hang on to but the malt is discreet, finale in yeast with a good presence of alcohol, creamy then harsh then creamy then harsh texture, mildly sweet, slightly bitter, medium body, average carbonation; overall: correct FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 500 ml, achetée chez Le Grand Duc le 18 mai 2008, savourée le 28 mai 2008; œil : dorée, légèrement voilée, bonne effervescence, belle mousse blanchâtre crémeuse, un peu de dentelle; nez : levure, banane, très léger cendré, léger épicé, sorte de caramel; bouche : levure, banane, léger épicé, piquant d’alcool, sorte de caramel, le malt agît comme squelette à ses goûts mais se fait discret, finale en levure avec une bonne présence d’alcool, texture crémeuse puis rugueuse puis crémeuse et finalement rugueuse, moyennement sucrée, très légèrement amère, corps moyen, carbonatation moyenne; en résumé : correct

Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Average aroma of honey and herbs. Average flavor of honey, herbs and spices. The body is medium with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. It’s a fairly simple beer and it doesn’t really feel belgian.
