My Bottom Line:
This gentlemanly American-style Pale Ale provides a base of toasted and caramelized malts on which grow leafy and resinous hops for a balanced pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the clear amber.
-Carbonation is quite soft, which teamed with silky dextrins makes for very easy drinking.
-This is not the kind of recipe that is going to be very memorable to me, but it makes for a pleasant session nonetheless.
-The finishing bitterness is levelled with the medium intensity of the rest of the brew.
-Even though this is 6%+, I could have had the entire 6-pack to myself in a few hours.

Bottles.

341 mL bottle from trade with JulienHuxley. Amber with very little head. Lovely aroma of fresh floral hops, brown sugar, and black pepper. Taste doesn’t quite live up to the aroma, but is still good, with hops, caramel and spice. Kinda like a hopped up London Pride or Speckled Hen. Some bitterness in the finish. Appropriate carbonation. Good, but I bet it would be very good on tap.

(Rating #2771)

Bottle. Beautiful reddish brown look with an off white head. Peppery hop and toffee malt aromas. Taste is nice, well balanced toffee malts with some peppery bittering hops and a caramel sweet finale. Quite enjoyable and definately a good APA.

Pours a clear copper color with a medium, diminishing , beige head. Aroma of floral and citrusy hops with caramel and biscuity malt. The flavor has caramel sweetness, it’s biscuity and nutty and there are floral and citrusy hops, it finishes with bitterness. The body is light to medium with a slightly oily texture and moderate carbonation. This is a well done, well balanced APA.

Copper color, with a frothy beige head, leaving some lacing, sweet biscuity, toasty, caramel malt, fruity nose, with a floral hop, orange peel accent, and a faint cookie dough, toffee note, with a light nutty, biscuity aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty bubblegum, toasted, biscuity, caramel malt, earthy flowery hop character, with some raw resinous, leafy, grassy notes, with some faint peach, orange peel accents, leading towards a malty, strong juicy hop pellets, grassy bitterness finish.

341 ml bottle via JulienHuxley, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear copper with a tan-reddish head. Aroma: Nice toasty, crunchy malts, lightly fruity/earthy/nutty, a touch of bright fruit, light marmalade, toast/biscuit, a little pine. Palate: Medium+ body, moderate effervescence with a few sharp points. Flav.: Nutty, British malts, some American caramel maltiness, leafy, slightly piney hops with a few fruity/citrus notes, some light esters; off dry with good bitterness and a malty finish.

A pleasant and restrained take on the style. Good job.

341 ml bottle, bought October 28, 2009 at Peluso (Montreal). Hazel copper, small head. Aroma of slightly bitter hops, notes of malty nuts. Taste of dry hops and lots of cereal malt, a little nutty, good bitter finish. This is not a memorable beer but memorable Rene, thank you!
