ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 26, 2008 Pours a muddy gold with way too much head. Nose is sour corn. The head has literaly formed a nipple in the middle. It looks like a model of Devils Tower formed on top of my bear ala Close Encounters. Taste is sour and hoppy (soppy?) Like a lite verision of Victory Golden Monkey with a slighlty cardboard finish. Not at all what I expect in a Pilsner. Don’t know that I will finish it. Who am i kidding, it’s all drinkable (except sam adams trippel)
amish_caravan (204), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 5, 2008 I hope this was just a bad bottle but it smelled very skunky and the taste was very sour. IlanMan (522), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 5, 2008 I only rated this beer a 2.2 because it was what the average was. I think this beer was a bit skunky smelling even though the date on the bottle was not expired. Flavor was still a bit spicey and slightly hoppy but dang, it was not so good. The dates on the bottles must not be correct. Make sure you buy it at least 6 months beore the date on the bottle. thejoeshow (106), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jun 24, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a straw/golden color with a moderate white head that falls down to a slight ring that is a little lacking in the lacing. The aroma is wonderful. It has a sweet backbone surrounded by light malt and a light floral, almost honey scent. The flavor is a little bit of a letdown from the nose, but not all is lost. It has a dry, grain taste at first then that gives way to a slight sweet flavor that trickles off before it totally gets down your throat. Not bad, not amazing. ChainGangGuy (1524), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Dec 27, 2007 Appearance: Pours a cloudy, pale golden body with a creamy white head.
Smell: Spicy, flowery hops and the nose-turning scent of spoiled lemons. Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.
Taste: Sticky sweetness spicy and floral hints. Then, there it is again, the sour, rancid lemon juice. Finishes with more of that odd, off-putting sourness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A bit of a blight on the pilsner scene.
