Cola greets the nose at first, and cream, light vanilla, with a touch of anise. Espresso twinges, and light cocoa.
Nice and smooth on the tongue, blast of bitterness, bittersweet espresso tones, than cool and easy, caramel and chocolate. Lighter bodied, for a stout, big time drinkability, ...but at times feels too much like a vanilla cream cola. Not quite enough body or substance, Dr. Pepper meets RC...with Mr. Pibb on the side.
Not something I’d recommend to real stoutophiles, but not a bad beer at all, just could stand to be better, I think. But, still, as I drink it down with affable ease, i like this beer, you bet I do. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing froth of dark tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate and a touch of earthy hops and some fusels. Body starts thinner, effervescent and semi-tart with a thinner slightly lingering roasty finish. I’m guessing this is in the early stages of an infection as well as most of their other stuff. MrBendo (1043), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Thanks to tytoanderso for the bottle. Deep brown pour with a huge head and good retention. Fair lacing. Strong yeasty aroma with a bit of chocolate and malt barely making their presence known. Taste of chocolate and coffee, but it’s watery for the style. Some bitterness to the finish, with the ever-present yeasty overtones. Not one of my favorites. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Bottle from whoever stuffed my cooler full of these beers at RBSG: Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma, roasty, chocolate, and coffee, more roasted malts than anything though. Flavor, very roasty, some chocolate, nutty, almost a harsh bitterness to it. Wouldn’t call it a sweet stout straight off, some coffee notes on the finish. Nothing special, but it’s solid. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Lots of roasted malts in the aroma, a little coffee and just a hint of chocolate. Flavor is roasty mostly but there is some element of fake chocolate here that I have trouble getting past. A touch of coffee there too but a little tartness keeps me from really liking it too. Palate seems a touch on the fizzy side. Drinkable but really that’s about the extent of it.. undsioux7 (559), Cologne, Minnesota, USA
