Pour is of course dark with a creamy tan head. Aroma is of burnt malt, light cocoa, and coffee. Flavor is slightly bitter with a lot of coffee and light chocolate. Smoth palate. Altogether not good. Not so good experiences with brau brothers. Won’t buy again.

Pours black with a frothy tan head. Aroma is of malt, chocolate, and sharp coffee. Taste was of malt, chocolate, and raisins, with a big coffee bite backing up the malt. Very creamy and thick mouthfeel. Drinkable, but not amazing.

Black colored body with a creamy tan head. Cheap milk chocolate and raisins start in the nose. Then there is some vanilla malt weird tartness. The taste is largely dark chocolate with some prunes in the finish. The malt is consistent throughout and makes this a little annoying.

Tasted 9/19/08. 12oz bottle. Pitch opaque with a finger width of khaki head. Heady aromas of toast and dark chocolate. Medium bodied with smooth character. Big cookie malt and chocolate flavors. Touch nutty. Mild, slight coffee flavor and acidity. Peanutbutter cookies with chocolate chips. Good roasted malts. Creamy with mild effervescence. I enjoyed this one. I guess I’m against the grain.
