Aged well, very smooth, with hints of dried fruit and cherries. Not overpowering sweet, which i suspect is a result of the aging? good stuff tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA

Beer was poured from a growler and it came out a little flat. Putting that aside, I think this is a decent beer that I would likely try again with proper carbonation. A sweet flavor that is very easy to drink with flavors of belgian sugar, caramel, and fig/raisin. Skyview (4064), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2008 A 2004 vintage beverage, on draught at the St Paul Winterfest in downtown St Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear dark cola brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted dark caramel malt, a light molasses and some soy sauce character. Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with a thick caramel flavor with some complex side flavors of molasses, raisin, some brown sugar and toffee. Finish is extraordinarily smooth, slightly lighter and watery compared to most other dubbels I’ve tried but quite smooth from three years of aging. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Pours a murky brown, topped by an inch of soft creamy tan foam. The head recedes to a thick ring in a couple minutes. Moderate lacing. Rich malty aroma of caramel and molasses, with some tart plum and raisin scents thrown in as well.
The aroma was nice, but only a foreshadowing of the wonderful flavors to follow: thick sweet caramel, toffee, brown sugar, fig, raisin, and tart plum. Sweet up front to be sure, but still nicely in balance. The finish was just as flavorful, but drier, with licorice, tart cherry, yeast, and earthy spice. Just about full-bodied, this beer was nicely carbonated and silky smooth.
