Commercial Description:
Ring Neck Braun Ale is the initial offering in the Brau Single Batch Series of beers. A perfect autumn ale, this big double nut brown ale is dry and fruity, yet surprisingly drinkable. Nutty flavor is derived from both biscuit malt and toasted oats. A hint of raspberry and classic British hops round out this mild and complex brown ale.

Bottle thanks to tytoanderso: Pours a reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma, caramel, some dried fruits, and some spice. Flavor, nutty caramel, some spice and some earthy notes.

12 oz. bottle. Pours out a nice dark brown with a thin quickly fading head. The aroma is of a sweet bread/malty nature. Upon tasing I found it to be a little thinner on the palate than I was expecting but it was fine. Flavors I found were chocolate, nuts, and a little fruit. I found the finish to a bit off as it left a lingering after taste, (not in a good way) but very drinkable. No lacing to speak of. It is a good beer that could become better with a little more hops.

Tap at Stubs. Hmm, fairly high hopes for this one. I got a lot of coco sweetness to it, but overally thought it was quite thin. REally drinkable, but not as much flavor going on it the way of hops or nuts as I would like. Not bad overall.

Bottle. Biscuty and lightly toasted malt aroma. A hint of cocoa powder, which I imagine derives form the oats. Pours a fairly attractive rich brown with some nice amber highlights. Flavor is slightly nutty with some malt and oats. A tough of roastiness. Nice offering! Keep it comin’, Dustin and crew!

(bottle) Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Nice aroma of toasted nuts and roasted malt. The flavor was sweet with caramel initially and some roasted coffee, but then this yielded to a somewhat dry cocoa-like finish that was a little odd. Pretty good though.

On tap. Aroma of caramel, nuts, some roastiness. Good flavor, solid enough bitterness to let you know it’s there. Good beer.

This was from a tasting but I have another bottle in the garage. Very smokey flavor, well rounded flavor, notes of nuts and roastedness, dry. Brown. O.k. Bottle.

[Bottle] Pours clear brown with a light tan head. Aroma is nutty, roasted malt--not bad at all. Taste of coffee, cocoa, and malt with a sort of strange finish that could be the raspberry. Medium-thin. Not very carbonated. This was ok--but as I have found Brau Brother’s beers to be much better on tap, I’ll have to rerate one at a bar some time.
