Syd (770), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle pours a brown amber with surface haze. The aroma is of malt and some yeast. The flavor is quite malty, sweet, and peaty. The palate is fairly rich, not bad. Not a bad effort.

Smells of caramel, some peat, light spice. The nose was strong in sweet butterscotch, notes of smoke which dissipated in minutes. Flavor was very butterscotch, very malty. It was decent; maybe a little sweet for my taste. Aroma was strong and sweet butterscotch with a hint of smoke which disappeared within 5 minutes. Flavor was very butterscotch and almost artificial. very malty with not enough hop balance. Decent but probably not worth a second buy.
