Bottle from TimE. Thanks! Smoky. Hint of diacetyl, which could just be some meloidins from the malt or a long boil. Some hop bitterness. Amber brown color.

Clear deep amber with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Flavour had roasted malt, caramel and toffee notes. A bit of nuts and rye bread towards the finished.

Ceramic mug. Slight spicy hop and earthy malt on the nose. Earthy, lightly toffeeish character on the palate with a rustic yeast accent. Fairly full-bodied yet fairly refreshing.

Draft @ brewpub. In krug the head disappears rather fast. The aromas are liquid bread, minerals. Thick palate. Has a soy sauce character, nice dark malts, Vegemite, then a dry hoppy finish. Nice.

Draught at the brewpub. Seemingly hazy dark brown colour. Small tan head. The flavour is mostly soy. I do not mind soy, and not in beer either, but it is just not that interesting. Spicy aftertaste, which is quite good.

Draught at the brewpub. Probably brownish amber, minimal head. Lightly roasty and a bit nutty. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Rater slim and straightforward. Lightly salty finish with lingering bitterness.

Draft. A brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet nutty and malty combined with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with loads of caramel, leading to a dry nutty finish. Served too cold for my liking which is a shame for the nice flavor, but the choice of the brewpub.

(On tap) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Soft aroma of roasted malt and some burned caramel. Dry but not overly hoppy finish. A very decent Dunkel. 091106
