DerWeg (450), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2008 From a cozy elevated area near a group seated at strange rotating table, I sample this nutty and lightly sweet Dunkel in subterranean Dresden. It is creamy in feel, light in body, pleasantly malty and ultimately nondescript. Lightly hop-herbal and earthy aroma is very subtle and clean. Das Dunkel does not interfere with the oddball brewpub scenery.
larsga (2447), Oslo, Norway Oct 26, 2008 Biggish offwhite shiny lasting head with holes. Dark barely translucent red-brown body. Roasty peppery aroma, kind of mild. Dry peppery milky roasty taste with caramel notes. Soft and mild. Clean, light, harmonic. Dry peppery grassy aftertaste with burnt notes. Leaves sticky sugars on the lips. Very nice. (0.3l draft at brewpub.) Maria (4725), Thisted, Denmark Oct 2, 2008 Draught at Waldschlösschen. The color is copper-brown and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt and a little coffee and syrup. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, caramel, light coffee and the finish is dry. It’s a pleasant and nicely balanced beer.
