Maria (4725), Thisted, Denmark Oct 2, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. It’s brown/black and the head is creamy. The aroma has a very light sweetness, notes of roasted malt and a little syrup. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, caramel and after a dry middle-phase, I also find hints of chocolate and licorice. It’s refreshing and dry, and it reminds me of a nice English stout under 5%. kappldav123 (1170), Markkleeberg, Germany Aug 22, 2008 Draught at the brewpub - 4,8% ABV. The beer in the glass is dark, almost black. Roastmalty aroma, the beer starts the same. Very short dry moment in the finish, the aftertaste is vapid, almost washy. Not so good! Quack-Duck (1973), Bodensee, Germany Dec 16, 2007 draught at the brewpub. Brown colour, hazy, large and creamy head. Flavours of roasted malt and caramel, slightly hoppy. The flavour is a bit thin and the beer seems a bit unripe to me. Still quite nice, especially to accompany the good and hearty Saxonian food they serve.
