Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 23, 2006 Updated: Jul 29, 2007(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, dark orangey brown with an off-white head. Lightly vinous and woody aroma. Quite full-bodied with sweetish, nutty accents and again a touch of wood. Lovely - will probably mature with aging. The Danish Samichlaus.... 281006 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 19, 2008 Bottled (2006 vintage) Mahogany colour, minimal head. Coffeeish nose. Sweet and near full bodied. Lots of grass, butterscotch and toffee. A caramelly and chocoaletey doppelbock plus. I like the grainy, rustic house character of Braunstein. Most of their beers are more solid than adventurous, but this is both. yespr (7782), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 7, 2008 50 cL bottle, #492. Pours cloudy and dark brown with a creamy slight tan head. Fruity and mild acidic aroma with a light spice note. Fruity and a mild smoke sulphorish base flavour. Light acidic. Quite fruity towards the finish nice yet surely off but strangely in a nice way. joergen (6814), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 8, 2006 Bottle.
Cloudy orange brown coloured with an off white head.
Aroma of malts, caramel, fruits and dried fruits.
Flavour of malts, caramel, fruits and dried fruits. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Sep 28, 2007 Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep ruby/amber colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is slightly oxidized (in a Madeira way) along with big caramel malts and alcohol. Flavour is malty, alcoholic and dark dry fruity. Pleasant one.
