omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 19, 2008 Bottled (2006 vintage) Mahogany colour, minimal head. Coffeeish nose. Sweet and near full bodied. Lots of grass, butterscotch and toffee. A caramelly and chocoaletey doppelbock plus. I like the grainy, rustic house character of Braunstein. Most of their beers are more solid than adventurous, but this is both. madsberg (4376), Bangalore, India Oct 31, 2006 Bottled. Reddish brown coloured. Uncleaer. Beige dense head. Plums, sweetness, caramel and some sugary sweetness in the aroma. Flavour is quite sherry like and vinious. Fruits and light notes of alchol. Medium bodied. Alcoholdense fruitnotes in the end, but alcohol overall is very well hidden. Very good beer from this brewery. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Sep 28, 2007 Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep ruby/amber colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is slightly oxidized (in a Madeira way) along with big caramel malts and alcohol. Flavour is malty, alcoholic and dark dry fruity. Pleasant one. Skinnyviking (2965), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 30, 2006 Bottle. Low off-white head. Dark clear red body. Pleasant sweet and intense caramel aroma. Vinuous flavor without the expected alcohol taste. bierkoning (5077), La Tropica, Netherlands Nov 2, 2008 2005 bottle from Yespr. Deep dark brown color. Gusher. Strong vinous aroma with proto and raisinny notes. Calvados and licorice. Vinous flavor, sweet with muscat grapes, a grapefruity tartness and fairly alcoholic. Malty. Brandy notes.
