Commercial Description:
Editor's note: All vintages of Heritage should be entered here. Heritage 2005: 11.8%, Heritage 2006: 10.5%

Bottle from Hopscotch. Malty bready nose with a dark brown pour. ABV is well hidden considering how high it is (too high) but the alcohol kills the complexity. Not alot going on just german pretzels and a little caramel. Disappointing.

[Bottled. Vintage 2006] Deep, dark copper. Small, bubbly, tan head. Slightly sourish aroma. Fruity and malty. Some caramelle and dark sugar in the flavour. Notes of red grapes aswell. Sweet and sour with a bit too present alcohol.

11.19.08 Braunstein Heritage 2006 No. P0834 Edition, 10.5%. Bottle gift from my friend Joshua in Sweden. Pours opaque ruby caramel. Aroma is pretty robust: fruity, malty, tangy, sour, sweet. Flavor is different. Mellow honey wheat bread, dried fruits. This has a mild flavor, well blended, well aged. This is a nice ale. Thank you Joshua!

2005 bottle from Yespr. Deep dark brown color. Gusher. Strong vinous aroma with proto and raisinny notes. Calvados and licorice. Vinous flavor, sweet with muscat grapes, a grapefruity tartness and fairly alcoholic. Malty. Brandy notes.

(Bottle, vintage 2006) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dark fruit, wild berries, caramel and notes of chocolate. Malty taste with dark bread, chocolate, toffee, dark fruit, raisins and wild berries. Slightly spicy finish. Above medium body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Balanced sweetness with a warming hint of alcohol coming through towards the end. Very good balance, possibly lacking something extra. Nice and warming beer.

(Bottle) Pours clear beautiful mahogany red to deep brown with a small, light nougat colour head. The aroma is grapy, vinous and sweet. Solid malty and caramelly with nutty, bready tones. A light oxidized hint of paper is also notable. Grassy and light floral hops in the background. Just a whisper of light-burned coffee .The sweet sugary notes is a bit too raw, like cold, honey water. The flavour is of caramel and sweet bready malt; still it is too clean and sterile to be chewy. Light spicy and grassy. The mouthfeel is clean with numbing alcohol and a soft carbonation. Drinkable but simplistic. Medium bodied.
