Mar 8, 2008 Hand bottled and given to me by Koelschtrinker - Vielen Dank. Sweet barley malt and yeast aroma. Cloudy orange-brown color with moderate head. Lightly smokey malt with hint of orange. Pretty light body. A nice tasting, easy drinking beer - but like others have said, not characteristic of an altbier.

Jun 10, 2007 Medium amber pour with a slight haze. Rather fruity nose, as much from the yeast as from the malt I believe. Kinda soured dried fruits blending in darker malts that failt at being toasty. Rather tea-like and the body confirms that intuition as thin as it is. They must indeed not like altbier much in Köln because this does not represent what a great alt can be…

Jan 19, 2007 Ein gutes Altbier aus Köln? Kaum zu glauben! Es schmeckt weich mit malzigem Unterton, mild aber nicht wässrig, ausgewogen, perfekt! Es wird wohl nirgendwo anders vorkommen als in der Braustelle dass ich anstatt des eigenen Kölsches ein Alt bestelle....
Diese Bewertung ist unabhängig davon, dass das Bier überhaupt nicht wie ein Altbier schmeckt, ich würde es als Dunkles einordnen...

Nov 12, 2006 Tap, at the brewpub: Slightly hazy, amber coloured with a medium-sized head, that sticks to the glass; estery, fruity,"green", slightly bitter nose with traces of sweet dark malt; light sweetish-bitter flavour, a bit sourish; light bodied; short fruity-estery finish with traces of bitterness. A rather poor and bland Alt.........
